Tracy Yap is currently the Regional HR Business Partner for South
East Asia (SEA) with a business division within ABB, a Swedish-
Swiss MNC automation company. She is based out of Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia. She supports over 500+ employees across 6
countries in SEA, providing guidance and coaching to the business
leaders & local HRs on change management in the areas of talent
development, employee engagement, internal policies,
performance management and employee relations.
Tracy has over 9 years work experience across various companies
and industries like engineering with General Electric (GE), banking
with United Overseas Bank (UOB) and mid-luxury retail with
Tapestry Inc (previously known as Coach New York).
She started her career with General Electric (GE) in Finance but
then made the bold choice to switch her career path into HR as
she realized her deep passion for talents and for being able to
make a difference in the workplace and in the lives of the
employees – “Humanizing HR” being her tagline.
Since being in HR, Tracy has held various strategic regional and
country-specific roles in the areas of Organisation & Talent
Development, HR Manager & HR Business Partner. These roles
have exposed her to all matters of the employee’s lifecycle from
recruitment, onboarding, development, retention to offboarding.
Her expertise lies in people coaching for leadership and talent
development & employee engagement.
Tracy is an honours graduate of Monash University, where she
earned a Bachelor Degree in Business & Commerce majoring in
Economics & Finance. In her spare time, she enjoys taking long
reflective walks, experimenting with new healthy recipes in the kitchen,
trying new food places, conceptualising new business ideas
(feeding her entrepreneurial mind), traveling & writing.
