Huawei Spark Accelerator 2022 Malaysia is a tech competition with aims to help startups achieve explosive growth by providing potential investment, world-class mentoring, workshops and more. The programme has started to call for registration on June 2022 and after a stringent vetting process it has now culminated in the Grand Finale where the Top 10 startup finalists will pitch their ideas, products & services to a panel of judges and be eligible to secure exciting prizes that will further accelerate their business growth. This promises to be an exciting event and will be an opportunity to witness the creativeness of Huawei Spark Malaysia’s top startups and potentially the next unicorn for Malaysia.

Yvonne has over 15 years of professional experience in the private/public sectors, ranging from tech research & consulting sectors across the Asia Pacific to analytics, corporate and business strategy development & implementation.
Yvonne is currently the Director of Digital Industry Development under the Ecosystem Development Division at MDEC. Her portfolios span across Ecosystem Innovation Growth and Startups and Community Building where she leads corporate partnerships by advocating innovative collaboration activities between local/global corporates and Malaysian tech start-ups & scale-ups, as well as steering the strategic direction and community development agenda.
Nicholas Kew has over 7 years of experience in corporate finance, loans, property, manufacturing, F&B, and tourism, which has shaped his unique regional experience and perspective in finance, as well as giving him the edge to provide focused insights anchored on driving businesses forward. He holds a Bachelor in Commerce from the University of Wollongong with specialisations in Corporate Finance and Management.
Muhundhan comes with over 20 years of experience in key leadership roles that spans the domains of digital transformation, entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, technology management and organisational capability development. He is a trained Project Management Professional, Information Security Lead Auditor (ISO27001) and Certified Professional Marketer (Asia Pacific).
At present he is the Chief Innovation Officer at MRANTI (Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation), a government agency mandated to accelerate national R&D commercialisation. He leads a team providing technology business services such as software engineering, human centered design, data analytics and systems and network including 5G, as part of a suite of innovative solutions for MRANTI and its park’s digital evolution.
In his previous capacities within the industry and a government agency, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Muhundhan was involved in leading business digital adoption initiatives, spearheading growth of the Malaysian digital economy landscape as well as helping enterprises embrace digital transformation and innovation. His preceding tasks include consulting and advisory roles to the Malaysian government in national policy development for National 4IR policy, MyDigital blueprint, Malaysia Plan and Industry4WD.
Hazwan is the Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation, where his team focuses on building a robust ecosystem that supports local start-ups and entrepreneurs, and providing digital empowerment opportunities in all corners of the state. He also leads several Sarawak STEM initiatives, is an MBOT Professional Technologist, an Acumen Fellow, and a Project Management Professional (PMP). He started his career in upstream oil & gas operations, before expanding his skillsets working in a multinational start-up, and starting an education-focused social enterprise. As a member of the International Development Design Network (IDIN), he has carried out short-term development design projects globally. He was educated at Melbourne and Oxford in engineering, and loves all things tech.
Wei Chung is currently the Head of Ecosystem Development of Huawei Cloud Malaysia, a strategic role that spearhead the partnerships with technology companies at levels, enable the cloud ecosystem, and integrates various product offerings and work with various partners to promote the cloud adoption. Wei Chung has more than 10 years of experience in the industry, and are one of the few early adopters and innovators in Cloud industry who has created impact in the market.
He is also among the pioneer who had actively working with the ISVs in developing IoT and AI solutions for various industries. Wei Chung is a strong believer in cloud and 5G are the keys for digital transformation, he is passionate in advancing the art & science of managing business ecosystem, and enjoy working with partners and customers from all fronts to realize the goals of cloudification
A seasoned market development professional, Farah has more than 25 years of experience in wholesale financial services, financial eco-system curation, business advisory, strategic communications, and branding.
Formerly the CEO of Labuan IBFC Inc, the market development and marketing arm of Labuan Financial Services Authority, Farah’s experience in strategic business planning also allows her to curate bespoke solutions in respect to financial structuring, wholesale international finance and corporate structuring, both in the traditional finance and digital asset space.
Previously attached to the Asian Institute of Finance and Bursa Malaysia (Malaysia’s Stock Exchange), she has held senior management positions in the B2B financial services industry. Farah began her career as an institutional equities and derivatives dealer, before moving on to head the official lobby group for stockbrokers, the Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia.
Farah is the Vice President of the FinTech Association of Malaysia, a Founding Member of Women in Blockchain Asia and an ExCo Member of ACCESS Malaysia.
Alan Lim is the president of MBAN (Malaysian Business Angel Network), overseeing key decisions in the Association. As part of the founding partners and a Principal Advisor for NEXEA, he currently manages the development, communication, and execution of strategic initiatives for startups under NEXEA. Alan is also the co-founder and former CEO of MediaBanc Group; the largest media monitoring and insights company in South-East-Asia since 1997. He fully exited the business in mid-2014 when the company was listed in the ASX as iSentia Group Ltd. He has successfully grown a few startups regionally, noticeably Commsight who manage to expand to Indonesia and Vietnam; with Thailand being in the pipeline. As an investor, Alan has invested in 40+ startups in the SEA region. He coaches young Entrepreneurs in his spare time to give back to society and strengthen the entrepreneurial community.
